I've been in your shoes.
For so long (a decade), I knew what it was like to be tossed aside by doctors and practitioners that 'Nothing was wrong with me.'
My bloodwork was normal. I was 'healthy' by all standards. Even though i felt like crap. Even though I had PCOS for seemingly no reason. Even though I was told I'd likely *never* get pregnant (now almost 3 babies later...)
This is why I went to naturopathic med school. Because I wanted the answers for my damn SELF.
And it was me and ONLY me who discovered them:
I have a genetic underlying adrenal condition that effs up my hormones. That gives me PCOS if I'm not diligent. That gives me resistant stubborn body fat if I live a certain way.
No one believes us a lot of the time.
I've discovered a lot of hidden thyroid issues in women. Adrenal issues. Liver...

Being pregnant for me is a huge reminder of this. Because often pregnancy blocks me from eating the way I mentally want to, and definitely from looking the way I want to.
And it gives me varicose veins and pelvic pain and other things that feel 'out of my control.' Here is the thing though:
No change or transformation can ever be permanent and EASILY maintained unless it's occurring in a space of deep self love. Or at the very least, a lack of self-hatred.
I've tried forcing my body to do what I wanted before, and sometimes it worked, but the maintenance of it was so damn difficult because it was out of alignment. I'm not going to eat broccoli and chicken breast every meal for the rest of my life, Trainer Steve! It's just not happening.
I'm not saying you have to get out a journal or do some weird belief work or anything like that.

Look, I'm gonna be really real with you, as I've explained there are two types of women looking to lose weight - check my Nov 8 post.
For *most* women especially in type 1, they are desiring to shed 15 - 30lbs maybe. Maybe even 50, 60lbs. But the thing is, it's not the weight ITSELF that affects them -
As much as how THEY FEEL ABOUT THE WEIGHT.
If you interviewed any of their husbands / boyfriends, they'd say She looks dynamite. She's hot AF. There's nothing wrong with her. Because there isn't!
But I've been that woman: where you don't FEEL like yourself, Something FEELS out of balance, your weight feels unresponsive to your efforts, and you just wish so badly you could get back unto the body you knew for so long, or an even better version of it.
It takes up an ENORMOUS amount of mental bandwidth, for something that we rationally...

They are not wholistic.
They take a masculine approach of only addressing 'calories in and calories out.'
So, cutting back on dietary cals, and ramping up exercise cals. And using willpower and discipline to stick to it.
When REALLY... the wholistic approach is to:
Naturally rebalance your hormones
Cut back on internal inflammation in the body
Ramp up your body's ability to detoxify the crap stuck in your fat cells
Rebalance the brain chemicals that have you craving all kinds of foods (chocolate, sugar, salt, savoury and any processed foods)
Replenish you with the vitamins and minerals you may be missing that can be contributing to low metabolism
Improve your digestion so that you ABSORB more nutrients, fewer calories, and get less inflamed from foods
Deal with / get rid of...

Do you feel like your body doesn't feel representative of who you really ARE, on the inside (or who you've BEEN, before, and know yourself to be)?
Do you feel like your body doesn't seem to respond or change, despite how much *work* you put into exercise and nutrition?
Did Weight loss methods that used to work for you in the past not work anymore?
Have your clothing choices have changed to all-black, stretchy or yoga-type clothing?
Do You YEARN to wear cute, colourful outfits again that reflect your true sense of style?
Does shopping bring you little joy now, in fact you're often scared to try things on and find out you're *yet* another size bigger?
Do you feel surprised or upset when you see yourself in pictures, because you really didn't know you looked that big?
Do you find yourself having to do...

Silent Generation (My Grandmas'):
- Somehow surviving off 1 slice of toast, a grape, and a thimble of cottage cheese per day. Drinks a half package of Nestle cappuccino mix as a treat. Loves Ranch or Catalina dressing on their nutrient-less iceberg lettuce with 1 slice of cucumber for dinner.
- Doing yet another Master Cleanse, this time for 21 days!
- Has done The South Beach Diet, Atkins, and Keto. It worked for a while then stopped.
- Has lived entirely off melba toast and grapefruit at one time.
- Going to a Vegan retreat with their Millennial daughter
- The "I ate cheese and crackers for lunch" group
- Has barely any protein let alone animal protein and wonders why their hormones are amok
- Lover of Weight Watchers because she can save up all her points, not eat ALL day and then binge on a packet of skittles. Wonders why it's not working. Wonders why...

Type 1: You've been lean most of your younger life. You didn't need to *do* anything to be lean. Suddenly something happened - one or more of
You gained the freshman 15; you started working a f/t job and gained weight; you got pregnant; you took fertility treatments; you hit your mid-30s and your metabolism slowed down; you hit menopause and your hormones went wonky
You've KNOWN a lean body before, you heavily identify with it, and you really really want it BACK (or BETTER - think lean, lithe, sexy, strong)
The *good news is* - you are an ideal candidate for quick and LASTING weight loss as you typically have FEWER psychological / mindset issues in your way. Your identity is not *tied* to being a heavy weight. You are READY to let it GO. (Frozen Styles )
Type 2: You believe you were 'born overweight,' have been overweight since as...
Earlier this week I spoke about the ten elements of Wholistic Weight Loss
The Ten elements that work together to get RESULTS that LAST
No rebound weight gain. No skinny fatness afterwards. No yoyo dieting. No. Results that LAST.
Those ten elements were - to review:
Normalize Brain Chemicals
Cut down inflammation in the body
Improve Digestion so that you absorb as many micronutrients as possible and don't keep craving food in search of vitamins and minerals
Address MINDSET, stinkin' thinkin', self-sabotage, rebuild self-love
Address Food Addictions (usually addicted to your allergies!)
Address Food Allergies (usually allergic to your addictions!)
Address Emotional Eating - learn how to actually process emotions
Address Sluggish Detoxification
Address Nutrient Deficiencies!
And while weight loss is the main show that most women want, what few realize is how many other benefits they're going to experience.
𝗗𝗼 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗗𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗧𝗼 𝗕𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗻?
The Deeper I go into understanding what drives Human Behaviour,
The More I learn that our SUBCONSCIOUS brain is at the ROOT of it. Why we do WHAT we do - without even realizing it.
Why we have those moments where we think, "What's wrong with me? Why do I always do this? Why do I always ruin things?"
SO many women I know self-sabotage their weight loss in small and BIG ways.
From "Oh just this one bite won't hurt," - a benign little thought, to
Flat-out binging on high-calorie, low-nutrient foods when they're only a few pounds away from their goals.
Just saying - we typically don't see this happening in my weight loss program, although it does creep up from time to time. And we are well-equipped to help you work through it.
Behind ALL of these thoughts and actions is usually a deep cancer of a limiting belief that says,...

In her book Weight Loss Apocalypse, author and researcher Robin Phipps Woodall talks about how so few of us are able to actually deal with or BE with our emotions.
Instead we are reliant on a variety of crutches, from drugs, sex, shopping to of course, FOOD.
Food is the biggest one. Even if you escape or heal from all the others, people often end up addicted to foods, and engaging in emotional eating.
The long-term result of emotional eating is an imbalance in a hormone called LEPTIN, and when this becomes imbalanced (resistant), it makes it virtually impossible to tap into body fat as a big source of fuel.
Emotional Eating can look like eating ANY time we aren't actually hungry. So at parties and events. When we're happy to celebrate. When we're sad to drug ourselves. When we're bored and having nothing else to do.
And everything in between....
