Our Maevey Bean is a High-needs girl (like my Alice).

 

Don't believe me about either of them? Try getting them to wear socks. Great I'll see you in an hour after your sanity is gone and you've ripped every shred of your own hair out

 

Nutrition choices don't 'make' kids high needs, but if you have a high needs kid, their behaviour can certainly be impacted by it.

 

It can make the difference for YOU between having a good day or tolerable day,

 

VS having a day of tearing your own hair out (again), counting down the minutes till bedtime, and craving a strong drink or whatever your pacifying drug of choice.

 

(PS I don't vilify wine desires; I think it's a sign of a Mom being under-supported and over-worked).

-Eat breakfast as soon as possible within waking up. Try to get protein, good fats and good carbs in there (all the things). Kids with...

There's a Distorted Thought process called "All or Nothing Thinking."

 

Perhaps You, like I, have done it a time or two

 

There's a somewhat Opposite approach I learned from a coach (Denise DT of Get Rich Lucky Bitch), called The Art of Incremental Upgrade.

 

She talks about how many people are 'waiting' for the day they have ALL the money - for the house upgrades, the wardrobe upgrades, the makeup upgrades, etc. But she says that day essentially never comes - even less so because we think of it this way.

 

She says instead, each week or 2 weeks, to buy one thing to incrementally upgrade an area of your life closer to 'first class.' Instead of waiting for $5K to show up so you can re-do your whole wardrobe, buy one pair of pants you love this week. Next time, another. Before you know it - you're a lot closer to where you wanna be -

My Man & I were recently talking about an amazing Napoleon Hill quote:
 
"The number one reason people fail in life is because they listen to their friends, family, and neighbors."
 
The more inflamed, hijacked, and otherwise unhealthy our brains are, the more we care about and fall prey to the opinions of others. To a point they will govern and dictate the entirety of our existence and lead to unhappy, unfulfilled outcomes.
 
Why does this happen?
 
A 'sick' brain is a sick animal. A sick animal needs the group, the Tribe, at all costs to survive. Therefore the sick brain will give in to the thoughts of others as a survival tactic.
 
This means they don't stand on their own two feet - standing for what's right. Standing for integrity.

4 Ways to Make Healthier Coffee

𝗪𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗧𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲
 
For those following along, I gave up coffee for 3 months! And I felt amazing.
 
Pregnancy & coffee was not particularly agreeable,
 
PLUS,
 
I did a self-sabotage course that showed some data about how we become more easily influenced by others, when we're already under the influence of caffeine.
 
I was in a space to 'reclaim my brain' as much as possible (being tribal / group animals, we will ALWAYS be influenced to varying degrees by the people around us including those on TV - our brains don't know the dif!)
 
I took coffee back on when I became a new-again Mum and I feel mostly the same in terms of maintaining a 'clean' mind.
 
Here are my tips how to have coffee with minimal impact to your brain, mind, waistline, hormones etc:

𝗗𝗼 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗪𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗛𝗮𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲?

 

When I think about who I want to be for my Girls, it's definitely to continue evolving into the Best version of myself,

 

No perfection, just Progress.

 

Part of that is having more patience. A thing I've so sorely lacked my entire life. A thing we need SO much of with little kids.

 

You know that saying?

 

"Kids need your love and attention MOST when they deserve it the least,"

 

or

 

"The kids who need the Most love, ask for it in the most unloving ways."

 

Yeah --> That. Patience. Is. Required.

Align Your Mind with the Divine

 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗲 

 

I used to work with a chiropractor who said 'Align Your Spine with the Divine' and well, I kind of stole his already stolen phrase for my own purposes here.

 

When we're

- Eating poorly

- Timing our nutrients improperly

- Letting ever day toxicity / pollution in our air, water, food get the better of us

- Lacking certain lifestyle elements like the right sleep in the right way, right movement, right practices

 

Our Minds fall out of Alignment with the greater flow of Life.

 

It's also way harder to manifest or step into the life of our Dreams - and it always feels 'just out of reach' - when our mind feels full of cobwebs and poor functioning.

 

There is merit to working on our actual brain & body health - as well as our mind health - to creating the life we really want.

 

Being out of alignment can block us from getting there - or make it a serious uphill battle.

Disease is Not a Mystery

 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗠𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 

 

Right now the majority of people live a different life from that of their Body.

 

They aren't actually 'tuned in' to their own bodies. Therefore when their body gets sick, or does something weird, it totally freaks them out.

 

Disease and bodily issues appear like a total mystery to them.

 

Look, I don't know anything about cars for the most part, I just drive them. I put the basic kind of gas in them, and I change the oil when I'm supposed to, and take them for maintenance. But that's about it.

 

If my car started doing a weird thing or making a weird sound, it would be a TOTAL mystery to me as to why that were happening.

 

But yet - if I took the car to a mechanic (or even my boyfriend), they'd probably know in an instant what's going on.

 

Car diseases are not a mystery to them.

 

What I'm trying to say is, ITS POSSIBLE to understand your body. It's not a Mystery...

Can you see the forest for the trees? Or, why we moved four hours north of the city!

 

 

Yassss it’s true, and only our closest friends and family have known for the past few weeks. We made a split-second, yet many-months-thought-out decision a month ago to buy a home significantly North of the city.

 

For those that know me know I hate winter, at least, the drudgery and slushery of Southern Ontario winters. So, I decided to run into Winter face-first instead. At least the kind of winters I had in Quebec as a kid. Ones with real actual snow instead of just grey depression.
